I’m MacKenzie Price, Co-founder of Alpha School, and I was once a frustrated parent just like you.

When both of my daughters came home from school and dropped a bombshell (“Mom, school is so boring,”) I couldn’t believe it. These were two girls who loved to learn, who were insatiably curious about the world around them. Clearly, school had failed them. Something had to change.

But what?

I searched everywhere — private school, Montessori, homeschooling — but nothing felt right. Every school seemed stuck in the past, with outdated pedagogies and low expectations for success.

So, I built something new.

With a bold vision and a passionate team of educators, I set out to reimagine education with a single question: “How high is high?”

And the results have been astonishing.

Alpha School is our flagship school in Austin, Texas, where:

• Students learn 2x in two hours a day

• Classes perform in the top 1-2% in the nation

• And 62% of our students would rather go to school than go on vacation.

We’ve taken everything we’ve learned and launched eight different schools — and counting — using the same model we used to launch Alpha School.
